Below is a graphic overview of the Mental Health Safe Project’s methodology for locating problematic policies, publications, and practices and working to educate about these issues.
MH Safe began this type of advocacy work in 2021 and formalized the LACE and GRACE approach described by this graphic in 2023 in order to prepare to scale the work and incorporate AI support. The methods below have led to successful collaborations to update or remove potentially stigmatizing policies and practices at major websites, academic institutions, government entities, and publishers.
